Already certified as a PADI Open Water Diver? It’s time to take the next step with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course—a hands-on, experience-based program designed to expand your skills, boost your confidence, and open new diving opportunities.
The Advanced Open Water Diver certification is your gateway to deeper, more diverse diving experiences. It’s not about exams—it’s about exploration, adventure, and improving your diving abilities under the guidance of a certified instructor.
During the course, you’ll complete five dives, including:
A Deep Dive (up to 30 meters / 100 feet)
An Underwater Navigation Dive
Three specialty dives of your choice (e.g., wreck diving, night diving, photography)
🧭 It’s called “Advanced” not because it’s hard—but because it advances your diving!
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is divided into two parts:
Study 13 available specialty dives at your own pace
Learn about safety, equipment, dive planning, and specialty techniques
Time commitment: ~6–8 hours of online study
Topics include:
Deep diving principles
Navigation techniques
Night diving protocols
Wreck and drift diving
Buoyancy and underwater imaging
You can complete this at home before your dives begin.
You’ll complete five open water dives, each one focused on skill-building and exploration:
Deep Dive: Go beyond 18m and down to 30m (100ft) safely and confidently
Navigation Dive: Learn to use a compass, natural navigation, and distance estimation
3 Specialty Dives: Choose from options such as:
