  • Day 1: Theory & Confined Water Skills Learn essential dive physics, safety rules, and equipment setup. Practice core skills in calm, shallow water until fully comfortable.

  • Day 2: Open Water Reef Dives (Dives 1 & 2) Head out by boat to Red Sea coral sites to practice buoyancy and explore up to 12 meters.

  • Day 3: Open Water Reef Dives (Dives 3 & 4) & Certification Demonstrate underwater control and dive planning down to 18 meters, then receive your official PADI certification card!

PADI Open Water Course Skills (Confined Water-Open Water)

  1. Equipment Assembly: Setting up the cylinder, regulator, and BCD.

  2. Pre-Dive Safety Check: Executing the BWRAF (Begin With Review And Friend) buddy check.
  3. Deep Water Entry: Entering the water safely using a giant stride or seated entry.
  4. Surface Buoyancy Check: Adjusting weights so you float at eye level with an empty BCD and a held breath.
  5. BCD Inflation/Deflation: Operating the oral and power inflators at the surface.
  6. Snorkel-to-Regulator Exchange: Swapping between breathing apparatuses at the surface without lifting your face from the water.
  7. Five-Point Descent: Executing the descent protocol (Signal, Orientation, Regulator, Time, Elevate/Equalize).
  8. Regulator Clearing (Exhalation): Removing the regulator, putting it back, and blowing out to clear water.
  9. Regulator Clearing (Purge): Removing the regulator, putting it back, and using the purge button to clear water.
  10. Regulator Recovery: Retrieving a lost regulator from behind your shoulder using the arm-sweep or reach method.
  11. Partially Flooded Mask: Clearing water out of a mask that is filled up to your eyes.
  12. Alternate Air Source Breathing: Securing and breathing from a buddy’s backup regulator while stationary.
  13. Five-Point Ascent: Executing the ascent protocol (Signal, Time, Elevate hand/dump valve, Look up, Swim up).
  14. Fully Flooded Mask: Clearing water out of a mask that is completely filled to the top.
  15. Mask Removal and Replacement: Taking the mask completely off, swimming without it, putting it back on, and clearing it.
  16. No-Mask Breathing: Breathing normally through your mouth for at least one minute without wearing a mask.
  17. Air Depletion Response: Signaling “Out of Air” to your buddy when your tank runs dry.
  18. Alternate Air Source Ascent: Sharing air with a buddy using their backup regulator while safely ascending together.
  19. Fin Pivot (Power Inflator): Achieving neutral buoyancy by adding small bursts of air to hover on your fin tips.
  20. Fin Pivot (Oral Inflation): Achieving neutral buoyancy by orally blowing air into the BCD while underwater.
  21. Hovering Motionless: Floating completely suspended in mid-water for at least 30 seconds using only breath control.
  22. Cramp Release: Removing a leg muscle cramp on yourself and on your buddy using the fin-stretch method.
  23. Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent (CESA): Ascending safely from a simulated out-of-air situation while making a continuous “ahhhh” sound.
  24. Low-Pressure Inflator Disconnect: Unplugging the BCD hose underwater to handle a simulated runaway inflation emergency.
  25. Loose Cylinder Band: Securing a loose scuba tank strap on your buddy’s gear underwater.
  26. Weight System Removal/Replacement: Taking off and putting back on your weight belt or integrated weights underwater and at the surface.
  27. Scuba Unit Removal/Replacement: Taking off and putting back on your entire tank and BCD assembly underwater and at the surface.
  28. Skin Diving (Surface Dive): Performing a vertical head-first or feet-first dive from the surface on a single breath.
  29. Snorkel Clearing: Blasting water out of a snorkel using the displacement or blast method after surfacing.
  30. Tired Diver Tow: Transporting an exhausted buddy at the surface for 25 meters using an approved towing method.
